Would 2008's 'it' girl please step forward?

Kate Moss' blow glow has faded.

Gisele Bundchen has Victoria's Secret well behind her, though her shoot for V magazine has done her no harm.

So here we are, more than half way through 2008 and I'm still left wonder: who in God's name is this year's 'it' girl?

Katie Holmes has a fashion disaster

Oh dear. All I can say is, I hope Katie Holmes is in costume for her latest TV guest-spot on Eli Stone. Or at least for a remake of Dynasty... Either way, I don't think the whole baggy-jeans-bunched-in-at-the-ankles look is going to take off... nor the snakeskin-sandals-over-socks look.

Coco Rocha is the sweetness for Vogue Japan

August 2008 hasn't been quite as outstanding a month for magazine editorials as July was. (If you received our last newsletter you'd have seen a selection of June/July's amazing photo shoots). But one that certainly is worth checking out is Coco Rocha's shoot for Japanese Vogue.

Gucci Cruise 2009 to be webcast

And the influence of the Internet upon the fashion industry continues to grow.

WWD reports that Gucci's Cruise 2009 collection runway will be webcast live.

Hit or Miss: Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum is looking very much like old Hollywood glamour with her bold make up and classically inspired hair, while on the way to the 67th Annual Peabody Awards.

The rest of the outfit is very structured leaving us feeling a little reminded of origami with it's sharp lines, fold and accentuated shoulders. It's up to you, is this a hit, or are we feeling a little constricted by structure?

Hit or Miss: Victoria Beckham black dress

Victoria Beckham in her red-soled Christian Louboutins, toting her Hermes Birkin, wearing a black spotted dress and a cropped cardigan.

With her oversized sunglasses and her signature pob, is it a hit or a miss?

Vogue Paris June/July 2008 = Wow

Peter Lindbergh did nothing revolutionary in his shoot for the latest issue of Vogue Paris. And yet, as we all know, sometimes simple is simply better. Lily Donaldson, Sasha Pivovarova, Natasha Poly, Catherine McNeil and Doutzen Kroes - five of the hottest names of the modelling world right now - posed for the simple yet oh-so-sexy shoot, presented in black and white.

Lacoste's Lethal Tennis

Lacoste's latest ad campaign asks a question, one which is in fact dear to my heart. The question is "what will Tennis be like 2083?" The answer of course is that it looks extremely dangerous but cool, with a mix of some kind of lightsaber racket, body armour, heads up display and a pair of shoes I would definitely not be saying no to.

Lacoste Lethal Tennis Campaign Shot

Oh and instead of an opponent you have some kind of crazy wall that tell you how fast your hit was (I hope it does metric measurements too) and launch the ball back at you at what seems to be crazily astronomical speeds, why else would you need the body armour? In fact the need for body armour may scare me away from ever playing Tennis again.

You may want to check out the rest of the campaign shots in our forum or just after the jump.

Hit or Miss: Natalie Portman at Cannes

Natalie Portman wears a blue construction on the red carpet at Cannes. So what do you think, is it a masterpiece, or is it a blue that would have been better left behind?

V Magazine May/June 2008: In Your Dreams

Lily Donaldson, Jessica Stam and Doutzen Kroes, together in one dreamy shoot. Could you ask for much more? The In Your Dreams shoot appears in V issue No.53, grab it if you can.
